MJR Architects is a contemporary branding icon for the design & development practice comprising planning, architecture and interior design.

Started in 2007 by Michael John Rudolph (formerly of Rudolph Lennard Beatty & Associates (1983 – 2006), the goal of MJR architects, planners and interior designers, is to concentrate on fresh, focused and innovative design threads in a rapidly-changing world.

The practice is located in a multi-disciplinary environment combining planning, architecture and interior design services in Cape Town. Our design ethos revolves around simple and clear conceptual work with the emphasis on integrative solutions that result in a personalised built environments that is responsive to local contexts. We are a contemporary practice with a broad spectrum of experience ranging from vernacular to minimalist.

Michael John Rudolph | Founder & Partner

Michael graduated from UCT in 1981 and has 40+ years’ experience in the field of architecture and planning. Michael was a principle in his previous practice, Rudolph Lennard and Associates (also Rudolph Lennard Beatty and Associates) for 23 years.

A sailing sabbatical during 2008 lead Michael to opening a smaller but highly focused practice able to focus on individual projects with attention to detail based on nearly 4 decades of specialist knowledge in the field.

Tanya Brodie Rudolph in Association with Lulu Maison Interiors

Over the last 15 years, Tanya has assisted several architects with the interior design and finish of projects, as well as having completed installations in country lodges, waterfront apartments and private residences. Her style is luxurious and layered, but with a relaxed warm feel. Tanya works to develop her client’s own taste and style, and assists them in creating a living environment that they love to come home to.

Jethro Bloch | Senior Architectural Technologist

Jethro is the newest addition to MJR Architects where he operates as a Senior Architectural Technologist.

He graduated from CPUT in 2019 with a BAS in Architecture.
Jethro is an enthusiastic, innovative, passionate individual who brings a fresh perspective to MJR.
